We are in the midst of two weeks of Summer Camp Crunch. This week - TopicsExpress

We are in the midst of two weeks of Summer Camp Crunch. This week is Girl Scout Day Camp, next is Gotta Sing Gotta Dance, a theater arts one. Both weeks the girl has to be at her events before 8:45 AM, meaning getting all of us up at 7 AM. This is my chance to give a shout out to all yall with regularly schedules like this. Whew! Like many self-employed homeschooling working crafts people, we keep later hours. Not quite as late as many of our all nighter friends, but still the most important work period is often 7 PM to Midnight shift. I do tend to get up at 7-8 AM most days, no matter how late I worked, but I usually get an hour or more of wake up time. I make coffee, clean the kitchen, get it ready for the day and usually sit down and read a dozen or more blogs, news entries, and my feed here. There is rarely an alarm clock in my morning, and Leah and Ell will sleep till 8:30 or 9, when I wake my wife to music and a cup. For two weeks it is !beep, beep! and zoom we go! Funny that. In our daughters summer, she has to get up like a school kid! So, to be clear, for all of you that do this daily, my admiration, my recognition, and please know this. We arent lucky that we get to live our lives without this mad morning rush usually, other than, Lucky to be born in the late 20th century of mankind, and live in a culture where we can create a lifestyle like this. We forged our lives that way. We knew what we wanted, and sought it, and crafted it. We are grateful for it and know it may not last. Illness, injury and other unforeseen circumstances may one day drive us back into the mainstream. However, for now, we like our little eddy pool, calmer most days, with brief flurries of festival rapids, and then, a slower float. I do thank our friends and patrons who have supported our art through purchases. You should know, that posting our lives here, and through our blogs, is to me a responsibility of thank you for that. Sharing a bit of light, and beauty, to the culture that allows me to make my living, without the grind, is my obligation as an artist. Its good to have this reminder. Of course, our family words this time of year... Renfest is coming......
