The focus of Men of The Bible is on the three men hosting a faith based video podcast designed to equip men to cope with contemporary issues using time honored, biblical solutions. (It is a show about a show) Our three hosts will deal with issues of obedience, faith, commitment, power, love, greed and etc. During the video podcast taping, the three podcast hosts will receive interactive participation via chat room, email and Bible Cutaways that take us back to simulated biblical times. The pilot episode topic is on obedience. Danny struggles to be obedient regarding the recent podcast makeover and the potential of losing creative control. Adam struggles with being obedient to the church elders regarding his grooming to be successor to the video podcast in the near future, of which Danny has no clue. Jerry suspects that Adam might be up to something mischievous involving the church elders and the future of Danny with the video podcast. Character BIOS Daniel (Danny) Gender : Male Age: 34-39 Danny is the founder and leader (moderator) of Men of the Bible podcast. He is married with a son and daughter. He is the youth minister of his church which sponsors the podcast. Daniel has the ability to be everything to everybody and is well liked among his peers. Initially, using his own resources, he started the podcast as a result of a discussion with his youth group when they complained that there were little to no faith-based programming geared towards their age group that they could relate to. Now that the church sponsors the podcast, he has many conditions to operate within. His major desire is to empower men and women to look to God for answers in all things. Adam (Adam) Gender: Male Age: 24-32 Adam comes from a long line of preachers. For most of his life he was expected to become a preacher as well; however, unlike his father and grandfather he lacks the talent. This is not to say that he has not been called. It is just that his calling is to teach as opposed to preach. God has blessed him with great Biblical insight. He immerses himself in the Word of God as well as recognized scholarly works that complements his natural gifts. He works as an IT specialist at a telecommunications customer service center. Also, he is considered the successor of the podcast by church leadership, a move Danny knows nothing about. He is a likable person. Besides his love for God he is also engaged to the love of his life. She sometimes causes him to make less than ideal decisions that cause some problems. Jeremiah (Jerry) Gender: Male Age: 26-34 Jerry is a man with a unique past. As a young teen he was heavily influenced in a positive manor by a neighborhood gang member who saw his potential and instructed him to “get his tail in Church” before he ended up in a wooden box. Jerry hastily heeded his advice and not only went to church; he became active in the youth ministry program and refocused his efforts in school. As a result, he was awarded an academic scholarship at a leading Christian university where he graduated with a degree in both Civic Administration and Theology. He is currently the assistant to the Mayor and co-chairman for Urban Redevelopment in the city. Jerry wants people to accept him for what he is and not what he used to be. He realizes that he carries a lot of history on his back; however, he also carries the hope of his family and community along with it. He is divorced with no children but he has a civil relationship with his ex-wife. He is sometimes challenged by decisions that he has to make concerning political necessity vs. spiritual principles. Adam (Biblical Character) for the Bible Cutaway Gender: Male Age: 20+ This character is part of the weekly feature Man of the Bible for each episode that takes us back to biblical times. This is a semi tongue-in-cheek look at how the theme of the week played out in the life of the Man of the Bible and the lesson that can be applied to our lives today. This environment will be shot in the “talking head” style of a mock interview used in a number of television sitcoms.
