We are searching for others who have signed a waiver like this regarding pensions that were taken from them previous to 1985 due to remarriage and denied to be returned after 1985 when the Charter of Rights and Freedom made it illegal to take away a pension due to remarriage. We were given a partial payment with a waiver that denies the person of their Human rights We are questioning the legal stance of this piece of paper, written in 1999, which had to be signed before the person could receive the partial payment from the government. This is part of a bill introduced by the government to protect themselves from having to follow the laws put in force by the Charter of Rights and Freedom in 1985. They were not witnessed or commissioned by any Lawyer, Judge or Notary. We as a group have gone back to try to claim our pensions, we have been in court 4 times only to be told by Saskatchewan Judges that we are barred from reclaiming them due to this waiver.
