We are so pleased to announce that Ryan Schisler, Senior Admission Counselor & Transfer Coordinator in the Office of Admission, was awarded the Michael Barron Impact Award in recognition of his amazing impact in the field of admission by the Iowa Association for College Admission Counseling. He is the first-ever recipient of the Michael Barron Impact Award. Michael Barron is a veteran admission professional who dedicated the majority of his career as the Director of Admission for the University of Iowa. He advanced this profession and remained dedicated to holding high standards for ethical recruiting with the focal point of recruitment aimed on the well-being of the student. He recently announced his retirement from the University of Iowa. About a month ago, a former prospective student reached out to Ryan to thank him for all he had done while he recruited her. Ultimately she chose to attend a college other than Coe, but two years later she felt compelled to email him. Through his work for Coe he impacted her in a way she still thinks about today. That is the epitome of a good admission professional. Thank you to Ryan for his dedication to Coe and congratulations for being named the first-ever Michael Barron Impact Award recipient.
