We are starting, right now, a six-part series of editorials making the case to repeal the prohibition on marijuana nationally, which has caused enormous damage to society and individuals (with an completely unacceptable racial tilt). The issue is complicated but we think the balance falls heavily on national legalization, allowing the states to decide how liberal they want to be about manufacture and sale (which 75 percent are already doing in defiance of federal law.)
