We as Cane Corso handlers/owner need to stop getting upset when - TopicsExpress

We as Cane Corso handlers/owner need to stop getting upset when people including veterinarians classify the Cane Corso as an aggressive breed. The fact is that the Cane Corso can get aggressive and should be aggressive in the right situation. This is one of the jobs that they were bred to do...not unlike other breeds, Rottweiler, German Shepherd Dog, Malinois, Doberman Pinscher, Bouvier De Flandres, Giant Schnauzer, Hovawart... However, like those breeds, the Cane Corso should also be a stable balanced dog. Dogs that are improperly bred can suffer from mental disorders. Dogs that are improperly trained are victims of poor handling and living conditions. We need to stop telling people that the Cane Corso is a sweet lovable animal that is not aggressive. That is false. The best thing that we can do as Cane Corso owners is to tell the truth. A good dog can play with children but, on the drop of the dime defend its owner(s), then herd cattle, then fight off big game to defend the livestock. The Cane Corso was bred for many jobs and yes they should have a good level of aggression just like Rottweiler, German Shepherd Dog, Malinois, Doberman Pinscher, Bouvier De Flanders, Giant Schnauzer, Hovawart...
