We at sherwood primary school wish to congratulate a grade 7 - TopicsExpress

We at sherwood primary school wish to congratulate a grade 7 learner ( I have to boast she is in my class) Neha Seupersad and an Educator Axel Batsch. We ( grade 7s) as part of our history curriculum we went to 4 history museums ( Cato manor historical monument, Bergthiel museum, Palmiet nature reserve and architectural dig, and the Pinetown museum. It was also a competition run buy various organizations in collaboration with Durban tourism, and in line with 20 years of Democracy, each learner was given a pass book and had to have it stamped by the various stops we made that day. On our return to school the learners had to write a report as to the lessons they had learnt from the various sources from history they encountered. There was to be 4 learners that were to be chosen to head off on a cultural mission to Bremen in Germany where they are to represent South Africa at a youth festival ( for want of a better word) and to present a cultural piece of work at the festival. They were to be chosen from their reports that they wrote one learner each from grades 8,9,10 & 11.The adjudication took place and the prize giving was held last week with an extra place being booked as Nehas report was so well written they found extra funding to take an extra learner along. Apparently the report was almost of the same quality as the grade 11 learner. We are extremely proud of her for this achievement. Mr Batsch ( who himself had to be interviewed for this honor by a panel of Dragons who made him sweat for this) is to accompany the learners to Breman as a chaperone for the 11 or so days they are there. They leave on the 3rd November and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts as they travel while the rest of us have to stay behind and WORK! Only kidding they both deserve this honor, and we are very proud of them both! Gute Reise
