We cleaned it up, scraped off chipping paint with a wire brush, we did two coats of white paint over the pre-existing black paint, then distressed it with sand paper and sealed it with two coats of flat varnish. It looks friggen amazing!! I cant believe this shutter is from the turn of the century.. From around 1895- the very latest. It looks so shabby chic! Cant wait to see them all finished and assembled together as a fence! Still need 15 more shutters..
