We cant stand for God without standing against evil. Many Christians want to preach 50% of the gospel only offering the world the positives of Gods kingdom without pointing out the negatives of Satans kingdom. Before an individual can be brought to sincere repentance he or she has to be brought to a place of brokenness realizing that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. You have to preach a person lost before you offer them eternal salvation in order to save their souls. The problem with church folks is that many individuals joined the church like you join the Kiwanis Club, the Boy Scouts, a fraternity/sorority, or the Red Cross. Christianity is not a club that you join, it comes alive in the human soul only after you acknowledge that you are dead in trespasses and sins needing only to be BORN AGAIN in order to inherit eternal life. Recently, I received a Masters Degree in Christian Counseling and the one flaw that I detected in all the information presented in class was the fact that without the new birth counseling is a waste of time. You cannot counsel the flesh, it has to be put to death allowing Christ to live! Gods solution is prayer, fasting, praise and worship, studying the Word and fellowship with those of a like precious faith in order to learn the life of selflessness required to be a member of the household of God. Saints, households governed by fathers and the local church is absolutely the environment ordained by the Lord Jesus Christ to teach rebels the ways of obedience and faithful family existence. The root word pater which means father in the Greek is the word that we derive family from and the basis for words like pastor and shepherd. Babes in Christ need the Christian family to be brought up in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
