They should demand copies of the tapes from the newspaper publisher and demand to cross examine the person who did the translation to ascertain if he or she is qualified to make a translation for official purposes. You cannot allow an opponent to translate your thoughts from one language into another without your consent, and then be prosecuted based on that translation alone, and, what guarantee do we have that, they did not tamper with the statements made on the tapes?
