We found an ancient treasure trove of videotapes of me in the 80s, and my kids insisted that we watch them. It was totally gag-me-with-a-spoon. Some of their comments: Them: Whats THAT? Me: This is called a V-I-D-E-O T-A-P-E. You put it into a machine called a V-C-R to play it. Them: Why didnt you just use your iPhone? Me: . Them: Why is your sisters wedding dress so...humungous? Me: Merengues were in, once. They actually had a moment. Them: Did you do that to your hair on purpose? Me: Actually it was quite fashionable to have large hair in the 80s. Them: Then yours was really REALLY fashionable. Them: But whats wrong with your shoulders? Me: Im wearing shoulder pads. Them: . Them: What are you doing? Me: High impact aerobics. It was huge! Jane Fonda started the trend! Them: Whos Jane Fonda? Time cruelly marches onward! One day their children will mock iPhones and the WiFi! Time to put the videotapes back in the chest along with the prehistoric VCR so one day my grandchildren can have a good belly laugh.
