We frequently describe the death of a loved one as untimely, as if to imply that at some future date we might be willing to accept their demise as perfectly punctual, just not now. It seems there is always a better time to be dead, and that time is: later. Just once I want to hear a death described as timely, or hear the eulogizer say, He had a good run, but weve definitely had our fill of him. Hes gone now, and not a moment too soon!
