We get a lot of the same questions each fall. Is the beach closed? First of all it depends which beach you were talking about in MISQUAMICUT. There are over a dozen beaches in MISQUAMICUT but most people seem to think that the state beach is all there is. The answer is that while the beaches may not be staffed they are open. No one ever shuts the gate to the town of Westerly or the village of MISQUAMICUT. You can go on the beach anytime of the year you please. There are no border guards there is no security and there is no one stopping you. And We would say about 90% of the businesses stay open until Columbus Day so there is always plenty to do.
