We got a plea from a shelter volunteer in SC a few days ago. She was begging for the life of an emaciated puppy w an injured back leg. She said the poor thing was crying and shaking in pain. The shelter was going to put him down if no one stepped up. In addition to these problems, he was infested w fleas and ticks and only 10 weeks old!!! We said, of course, and found a local vet for him to go to immediately. Shortly after Harley arrived at the vet, we learned he had a brother back at the shelter. Of course, we were not going to leave Hadley behind, so both were taken to the vet, given flea and tick remover and baths and put on IVs. How these puppies came to be in such horrific condition, we will never know, but we are happy we were able to get them medical help before it was too late. Both are also being treated for sarcoptic mange. They are located in Sumter, SC and we are looking for a short term foster for these precious brothers until they are healthy enough to travel up north. If you can help, please email [email protected] asap! These babies did not come with any pledges or donations, so if youd be willing to help out w the cost of their care, please go to nycsecondchancerescue.org/donate/ we just could not let them die in such horrific condition without ever knowing human kindness.
