We got our American on today by floating down the Chattahoochee River on tubes. It was spectacular. We hit the river in Helen and all along the way there were MANY a BBQ going on. The American celebration was alive and well in Georgia today. The wafting smell of yummy stuff cooking was tantalizing (but painful since we werent enjoying it). NO PICS? I KNOW! I am shocked too. So unlike me! I had to resort to saving Internet stock photos to keep up with my (self-imposed) tradition of recording EVERYTHING in pictures! Next time...a waterproof camera is going along for sure. (Tip: Dont EVER float the Hooch on the 4th...SO many people!) For those unfamiliar with Helen, GA, it is a quaint little German-esque town nestled in the NE Georgia Mountains. They are famous for their annual Oktoberfest. (cityofhelen.org/)
