We had a great weekend fishing the SGFC Mako Tournament. Firstly, a big congratulations must go to young Reece Cokun fishing about Scirocco for catching a World record Thresher Shark on 15kg line. A massive effort for a 11 year old!! Also a special mention to AJ Qahoush who caught a 141kg Mako on 15kg line aboard Madness. Congratulations to all the Winners who managed to take out the categories especially Tantrum who had a blinder on the Sunday. We copped the joys of fishing amongst the Browns bottom fishers on the Saturday when we had a nice Tiger Shark cut off by an unsuspecting bottom bouncer about 50m behind us.....we then fought another large fish for close to 3 hours before popping it off at 6pm......on Sunday, we tried to capitalise on some smaller Sharks in close but unfortunately did not pay off. We also got to witness some Mad Mullets towing around an esky lid on top of Bronwns mountain. This was good for us as their teasing tactics helped raise the fish we hooked on Saturday as they went past the back of the boat! Calling them crazy would be being polite!
