We had a very touching event at City Hall today. Staff were invited to come to a BBQ to honour Mayor McCallions retirement and give them a chance to say goodbye to her. We had entertainment by staff (and they were good!) and everyone had a chance to talk to Hazel. Hazel does not break down very often but her emotions got the best of her and she said that this event was the most special of all her retirement ones. The staff at the City have always been important to her and those of us on Council who were there went up to offer her a shoulder, support and a kleenex.
