We had a visitor filled weekend. What a surprise to look up and see Jim Eckerberg and Eldon Plettner standing in the hallway Sunday after Church. Then not long after their visit had ended, I received a call from Mike Whaley saying he was on his way to pick up some bikes and wondered if we would like a visitor for a bit. Of course we didnt turn him down! Add to that the visit from Doug Porter from Capital City Christian Church, Andy and Beena Saturday and Sunday, and Carol and Ryan Davidson on Saturday, and you might say that we were blessed with visitors all weekend long. Thanks to all of you who took the time to stop in! We truly appreciate your caring and love. Thanks also to Rusty Miller who stops in to be sure we are staying out of trouble. We know that we have to be on our toes or someone might clue him in! Today was a good day of therapy. Jim was able to stand 16 minutes on the standing machine. That is about 10 minutes longer than he has ever stood. He didnt even try to pass out on them, which is extremely good! We went outside a couple of times to get some fresh air, but the air is a bit chilly to stay out too long yet. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, so maybe we will make it out a bit longer. However, tomorrow Jim is going to the pool for his therapy, so he may not want to go outside after that. They say that really tires the patients out. Jim was approximately 260 pounds when he hit the ground. Thursday when they weighed him his weight was 217. Not quite the weight loss plan I would recommend. He keeps trying to sell the plan to the nurses and aides, but they dont think they need the plan that badly. Time to wake up for supper, but I am not sure Jim is going to agree to that. He is pretty out of it. He had class at 2:00, and will have class for the next 2 weeks. I am afraid he may embarrass us and fall asleep during classes and start snoring! But he is able to ask questions that test the student physical therapists knowledge. Those of you who have debated with Jim understand that fully!
