We had our first snowfall over night that stuck! It was a crisp 21 degrees this morning and we and the dogs were invigorated by it! With this transition time comes a change in how we do things in the kennels. In one of the photos below, Claire is holding all of the different items we need to move from kennel to kennel for morning feeding: poop bucket, food bucket, shovel for poop, poop scoop in case it can easily be picked up without being stuck to the ground (not in her hands at the moment), a sledge hammer for breaking through the thick layer of ice on the water buckets, an ice fishing hole scooper to scoop the ice out of the buckets and a coal shovel to shovel the light layer of snow off of each dog house so it doesnt compact and get too icy for the dogs. This transition period usually lasts about a month and a half and then were on the full winter routine. Well tell you about that when it happens!
