We had something happen this week that is unbelievable even for the Russell family. We have 3 cars in our household. One per person. On Thursday morning we had 2 cars incapacitated and by noon, the third one was down. You say, how can this happen? Madisons car wouldnt start for unknown reasons so she took my car to work. Upon leaving, the key broke off when she tried to start the car. You cant just run down to the locksmith and get a new key when it had s computer chip in it. We had it towed home. What we found out was we had to take the car to the dealer to reprogram the new key that they were going to make for us. Since we had no key we have to tow it. Then we found out we must have 2 keys made at a cost of like $150 each. If the tumbler is bad they have to order one from England at a cost of $300 and it would take a week. There is a guy in Atlanta that can do all off the above if you can overnight key to him but with the weekend forget it. Anyway the tow truck was late, didnt get here on time to get to dealer by closing so I wont have car until Monday. Meanwhile, the Jeep blew the power steering pump, making it undrivable. Thank God, my husband was a mechanic in his first life and quickly fixed up the jeep and will begin diagnosing the Pasat today. Madisons car. But with the help of everyone who helped out in this crisis, picking up Rhett, taking Madison to work and the use of loaner cars a great big Thank you! Life went on without too many interruptions! Its funny, I was supposed to start a bible study this week called Jonah a Life Interrupted but I couldnt get there because of this interruption! I dont know what God has planned for us, but this is not the life I had in mind for my 50s. We must seek his face to find out where we belong. Back to the car, when a simple piece of metal will start a car, why is it necessary to have a computer chip in the key that makes it such a hassle, inconvenience and expense to the owner? Ill never know!
