We had the pleasure of sharing Barry O’Leary’s Titanic story - TopicsExpress

We had the pleasure of sharing Barry O’Leary’s Titanic story this week when he visited with partner Niamh. Barry is the great-grandson of Titanic survivor Hanorah ‘Nora’ O’Leary. Nora was a steerage-class passenger who boarded Titanic at Queenstown (now Cobh) in Cork, destined for a new life in the United States of America, at just 16 years of age. It is believed she was rescued in Lifeboat 13. Her ticket number was 330919. Nora returned home for a visit some years after Titanic’s 1912 disaster, but remained in Ireland after marrying Thomas J. (Tim) Herlihy. She died on May 18, 1975, and is buried in Ballydesmond parish churchyard next to fellow Titanic survivor, Daniel Buckley.
