We had the pleasure of sharing our dives with Sharnie, a new diver, on the weekend. At only 13 began diving in January this year, and shes taken to it like a duck to water! Her biggest excitement so far - seeing Mantas with us this weekend. A first for her! She shares her experiences here, take a read :) Omg Wow what a great dive with Sarah (Dive Girls) who invited my dad and I along to see the manta rays at Manta Bommie at North Stradbroke. I loved this trip so much as it was a great experience to see all of the manta rays, clear blue water ( 25- 30 meters in visibility ) and a great experience for my age as i am only 13 years old. My first day at Manta Bommie was unbelievable, when I first rolled out of the boat and into the water my whole life changed as all I could see was these 5-8 meter manta rays as I could see the bottom from the surface. As I descended all you could hear is noises coming out of my regulator explaining how exited I was, my dream became true, manta rays everywhere! One minute ones coming over me and the next minute ones nearly touching me.... The next dive at Manta Bommie became even better! We saw a dozen of manta rays that flew right above us, they were that close dad and I could of reached out and touched them but we didnt as we knew not to. Besides manta rays we saw hundreds and hundreds of tropical fish and also some sharks! Ive been dreaming of this moment ever since I have started diving in January 2014.. This was a great experience and the best dives I have ever done! This will never be a dive that Ill forget, itll be a dive that will stay there 4 ever. Thank you Dive Girls! By Sharnie :)
