We have a family member retiring! Hyco, a Wheeling WV Police Department K9 officer is retiring after 6 years of excellent service. Hyco was my brother in laws, Brian Hails, partner since canine training in Virginia over 6 years ago. I have to admit its a bit of a disappointment that the department didnt list the services and accomplishments Hyco did for the Ohio Valley in their article. He is one amazing minded, hard working canine that loved being on duty. Hyco did enjoy other duties too like interacting in childrens D.A.R.E. program at various schools. What amazed me about this K9 officer is his ability to accomplish serious on call duties and keep his composure. Hyco is not only Bryans partner, Hyco is family, and Hyco will always be a Hails. Its an honor to have Hyco as part of our family. He has grown up with our children and I couldnt ask for a better companion/partner to bring my husband home safely every night. Hyco is an amazing dog, he is capable to go to work and be the working K-9 he was trained to be and then come home and relax and watch TV in the living room with the kids. What a great group of officers my husband got to work with, I know he will miss you all. I wish you all well and Be Safe!!!! Cortney Hails posted this morning about her husbands faithful partner.
