We have been contacted by a few different people about a scam going on in our area. The caller claims they are from the IRS and threatens that the person who answers owes back taxes or they will be arrested. We have also heard that they claim to have sent multiple certified letters (which the person never received). Dont give out any identifying information or any financial information. Although this type of scam is always floating around, we have gotten an increase in the amount of calls about it. Remember scammers like to play on two emotions; fear and greed. If you owe back taxes, you are probably already aware of it.
