We have been hesitant regarding this post for several reasons, but have decided it is time we must go forward with it. Many family members & friends are certainly aware of the medical situations Bethany Dawn Baker fights each day. You may not, however, be as aware of of the day-to-day struggles we face. We have chosen to keep quiet regarding these, & other details of what she faces. Our highest responsibility to her is of course her health & well being. But, second to that is our desire to guard her privacy & keep to her emotional wishes. We have talked with her, & she has agreed for us to share on Facebook. We are beyond blessed by the help & assistance our family has willingly & continually provided us through out Bethanys life. We would not be standing today were it not for them. However, within the last 6-8 months daily care requirements for her have shifted into a higher gear, and have become exceedingly more exhausting. We have tried to stay active & involved keeping up the normal as long as possible. This has been treacherous with Matt only being home on weekends. And, I have done a bad job of not letting others peek into this part of our world. I ask for your kindness & understanding as we step into the next phase of our journey, I have always been independent and wanted to handle as many things as possible on my own. We have, however, reached a point where I must put aside the Wonder Woman cape & more readily accept the help that is offered to me. So, heres the plan...After successfully recovering from cranial facial surgery & in stead of returning to outside employment, my amazing sister, Tammie McPherson, has happily agreed to assist me with care giving duties. Along with immense love & great experience, Aunt Tammie brings ease & familiarity assuring Bethany will be 100% comfortable with her care. As we strive our best to keep a constant & smooth routine. We may, in all, or part, be missing more frequently from social events, church, or family gatherings. Our days are ever changing moment by moment, so sometimes, our best laid plans can not be executed. For that we apologize, & assure you we do desire to be out & with you. We desire to lead as normal an existence as possible & plan to do so as often as possible. We promise when we are experiencing windows of well you will find us out & about, greeting you with kisses, hugs, & love. Watching our girl continue to spread Bethanys Hope wherever she goes.
