We have been receiving many requests to speak up about Gaza on our Facebook page, and we have been trying to think of how to do something meaningful, beyond just talking about it. Everyone has been deeply affected by the violence and injustice of the situation; that said, there are plenty of atrocities right here and the whole world over to keep any sane individual up at night, wondering about the human race. It is safe to say that the fight against injustice is being fought as much online as it is on the ground. To underestimate the power online campaigns have is a mistake; BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions) is swayed by public opinion, namely because the consumer has the power to not spend money where it opposes their moral beliefs. That drop in finances has an impact which cannot be ignored, and the world is waking up and taking notice, although not at the speed it should have. We at Kuch Khaas have decided to take the fight to the new battleground - social media. Using our Facebook page, which has a fan following of nearly 260k, we would like to spread light and positive reinforcement this Eid, for all the causes you hold dear. Be it Gaza, IDPs, education, minority rights, ending wars, acceptance...Kuch Khaass Facebook page is going to become your canvas, and you can share what matters to you most. HOW? - Download the image below. - Print it out and write your message (or, if you are tech savvy, superimpose the image on your own digitally) - Take a picture of yourself with the placard wearing white, on a white background - Share it on our page with #IamHuman (and whichever other #s you hold dear). - Tweet about it! Instagram it! Share it on all your social media profiles, and tag us back for maximum exposure. Lets keep the movements alive, despite pressure from many to silence and counter them.
