We have concluded alot of our faith teachings with Mark 11:25-26 which say, And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. [26] But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. This has left the issue of forgiveness on the grounds of condition;that until we forgive,we wont be forgiven but Jesus was talking to men under the old testament. This was before he bore our sins without condition. Forgiveness in the new testament is a right of the new creation as Colossians 1:14 says, In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. So in the new testament we dont forgive so that we can be forgiven, we are to forgive others just the way we have received forgiveness - free! And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christs sake hath forgiven you. Forgive because you have been forgiven, be motivated by love not fear.
