We have heard so often of people in the public eye going through tough times ... overdoses and suicide ... reminding us of our shared humanity -- no matter how famous or ordinary we may be. Robin Williams death ... for some reason ... hits me (and maybe you) hard. Seeing him with a kids fighting cancer ... time and time again being with our troops ... the twinkle in his eye, his honesty about his demons and addictions. I see bits of myself in him: the humanity ... the mix of fragility and strength ... keeping so much stuff inside ... We are connected ... more than I ever thought possible. A good friend of our family died earlier today. Her life and ours went in different directions over the past few years .. and yet, at the end, the connection came back together. It all reminds me: death is our rabbi and teacher ----- reminding us of whats important and whats not. Whats important is our love and connection to each other. Love and peace to all ---- Don
