We have just returned from this week’s appointment in Houston; the morning was spent meeting with the P-PACT team at Texas Children’s Hospital (the team who will coordinate all aspects of Kaden’s care), followed by meeting with Kaden’s specialist. The specialist told us that the fluid accumulation in his abdomen has reached the point that it is dangerous to both Kaden and Johna, and has recommended that we move forward with induction on Monday morning; the swelling has proceeded so rapidly that we have a 24-hour window to make the decision, otherwise a C-section will be necessary, which will put Kaden, Johna, and future pregnancies at greater risk. We have decided to move forward with the induction on Monday morning in Houston. The doctor tells us that with the medication that is used for induction, it could take up to 2-3 days before Kaden is delivered, and that in her professional opinion, he likely won’t live through the birth process. We keep asking “Is this really happening?”, and cannot escape from the reality that we will only see our son alive for a few moments. Please pray for strength and peace for us what we have been expecting becomes a reality and as we traverse this difficult path. Prayer requests: - Pray for the medical staff who will attending during Kaden’s birth, and that God will send the exact right medical staff to be there -Pray that we will feel God’s presence and His peace in every moment Cody, Johna, & Kaden
