We have received incredible support from people across the UK and many other countries in 2014. 30,000 dedicated members gave us a greater campaigning voice for better IBD healthcare, and supported our initiatives with time and funding. Magnificent fundraisers have run, jumped, baked, rowed, selfied and walked their way to raise vital funds for our work. Many wonderful people have volunteered their time, energy and expertise to help us to deliver our helpline services, develop patient information, and provide local support through our Groups Without your support, Crohns and Colitis UK could never have: • Provided over 150 hospitals and 200 specialist nurses with our patient support information • Awarded a record £700,000 of research grants • Distributed more than 250,000 booklets, guides and information leaflets to help people affected by Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis • Reached out, supported and engaged over 100,000 people via our social media networks, including our online forum • Supported over 3,000 people through our help lines and brought together 110 families at our National Family days and weekends • Raised the profile of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis through our media work and Ambassador programme • Given evidence at several critical NICE consultations and helped to secure access to under-threat treatments for people with Ulcerative Colitis • Launched our programme to improve access to care in Scotland, together with the Scottish Government, and raised the issues of IBD services in the English and Scottish Parliaments and the Welsh and Northern Ireland Assemblies ... and there are so many more activities that, through your support, we can be proud of in 2014. However, there is still so much more to do, and with your continued support and strength we have the determination to achieve much more for everyone affected by IBD. All our best wishes for 2015...
