August 10, Saturday, 11:00 to 1:00 Cooking with Herbs Have you ever tried rose geranium jelly or lovage potato salad? Come and discover the many uses of culinary herbs. Learn which herbs are the best for cooking, as well as how to grow, harvest and preserve them. The lecture will be followed by a delicious herb-themed lunch. Reservations are required. $36.00. August 17, Saturday, 10:00 to 12:00 Bringing in the Harvest With your garden bursting forth with the bounty of your efforts - come learn how to preserve your harvest. The art of drying, freezing, and canning your herbs, vegetables and fruit will enable you to enjoy the benefits of your garden year-round. Shortcuts, as well as tried and true methods will be covered. Reservations are required. $23.00. September 7, Saturday, 10:00 to 12:00 Fairy Dwelling A popular and fun class, we will use a driftwood base to create a charming miniature fairy scene. Choose a fairy, then build a dwelling place using moss, twigs, bark, woodland creatures and other unusual items. Bring your imagination! Reservations required. $45. September 7, Saturday, 1:00 to 3:00 Herb Vinegars, Oils, and Pesto With the garden at its peak and an abundance of herbs - it’s time to harvest; come learn the basics on how to make your own herbal condiments. This class will feature the creation of two oils, three vinegars and a pesto to take home. Light refreshments will be served. Reservations are required. $37. September 21, Saturday, 10:00 to 12:00 Pressed Flower Workshop Dorothy Kovak & Linda Conrad, experienced artists, will lecture on the art of pressed flowers and botanicals. Important techniques will be demonstrated. You will then create a 5" x 7" masterpiece of your own to take home and enjoy. Reservations are required. $26.00. September 21, Saturday, 1:00 to 3:00 Pressed Flower Collage This workshop is a more advanced step in flower pressing. You will use three layers of flowers and leaves to create your own 8" x 10" collage on Japanese Sanwa paper. Presented by Dorothy and Linda, as well. A beautiful project! Reservations are required. $26.00 October 12, Saturday, 6:00 to 9:00 Fall Harvest Celebration & Mark Twain Join us for our 13th annual fall harvest gathering with distinguished guest Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known as Mark Twain - whose wit and wisdom made him the father of American literature. Acclaimed actor, Bob Gleason, from the American Historical Theatre will portray Mark Twain. He was known as one of the most popular speakers and entertainers of early America.
