We have treated a puppy that tested positive for parvovirus which is a virus that attacks the lining of the intestines of dogs. It is a virus that we have very good vaccines for and if your dog has been vaccinated at our clinic or another clinic it will have had this vaccine. Also if you are thinking of getting a puppy make sure they have had a health check and been vaccinated if it is over 6 weeks old. This is the earliest we recommend starting vaccinations for puppies which consists of a series of three vaccination visits. It is intensive and costly to treat so let us help you prevent this virus from becoming a problem.
