We haven’t heard much from Kim and Edwina over the weekend as phone reception has been pretty patchy, but THEY’RE ALMOST THERE! Update from Kim: On Friday we relocated ‘base camp’ from Almora Rest, near Hopkins Falls to a beautiful historical homestead on a farm in Coleraine (accommodation kindly donated by Kate Daddo and Bill Kelso). Late on Friday, we expected to arrive in a cold and empty house, but found the home fires burning! Turns out Bill had arrived to give us a warm welcome! After a foggy start to the day, we took it easy on Saturday, covering a leisurely 20km – giving our blisters a chance to heal and our backs the opportunity to re-align. We used the extra time this gave us to explore some of the surrounding waterfalls, meet some of the local residents (the furry type) and generally help out a little around the farm. After a full day of walking on Sunday, we found ourselves in Winnap – just 56km from Mt Gambier! So this is it – the last day of our walk! We’ll walk into the night (if it’s safe to) and try to reach Mt Gamier today! Well keep you posted with our progress today! See you all soon!!!!
