We hosted a group from the Governors Institutes of Vermont July 22, to glean and process food for distribution to Vermonters in need, especially the elderly and disabled who may have a harder time processing and cooking fresh food. The students worked at The Center for an Agricultural Economy shared-use processing facility in Hardwick, processing 515 pounds of carrots and potatoes. Then spent the afternoon gleaning 1,530 pounds of beets at Petes Greens in Craftsbury. Thanks team!
