We just cant seem to get this right. The ducks are out to drive me - TopicsExpress

We just cant seem to get this right. The ducks are out to drive me insane. See, as the story goes we got Howard and Henny with 4 others last summer. The 4 other turned out to all be male so we kept Howard and Henny. Throughout the winter Howard and Henny lived together in their duck house. This spring we had no eggs on schedule like the rest of the farms around here so we decided to get Howard a few more girls. Enter in Daisy & Delilah. Still no eggs for weeks. Then one night we caught Henny mounting Daisy and thought wed made a huge mistake->Henny was actually a Henry! (We still dont know for sure) Keep in mind we had drawn the conclusion that Howard may be special and not enjoy the company of the ladies. So...anyways yesterday I went and borrowed a drake from dear friends after we found the eggs. Now that we know someone is laying we need to ensure that mating is happening and the eggs are fertilized. All I want is ducklings! Off Jill and I go to bring home Daffy Drake to mate as his owners state hes a go-get-Her. Come home crack open a Mikes Hard Black Cherry- which by the way is my new fav! We sit on the deck waiting for the BBQ to heat up and what do we see on the pond? Howard on top of Daisy! So maybe Howard isnt special after all? Maybe Howard needed another Male to come in and threaten his manhood. Oh dear God! What a mess! The saga continues...is Howard going to continue to mate? Will Henny reveal to be a male or female? Are the eggs fertilized? Will Daisy and Delilah continue to lay? Will we have ducklings? Stay tuned!
