We just got home from a private screening of The Monument Men with George Clooney & Matt Damon plus other excellent actors. Kate Blanchard plays a French lady - she plays the part!! - There is no doubt that she is a French lady!!! We were invited to attend this private screening with The East Valley Jewish Community. The movie is excellent - its not an action movie - but is depicting the actual happenings of the Nazis stealing and hiding the Jewish treasurers and valuable possessions. The Germans used five mines mainly in Germany and in private homes to hide the priceless art and artifacts. The Nazis were given orders that if Hitler dies - they were to destroy it all. Nice people!! What the Nazis stored of mainly Jewish valuables is almost unbelievable of the volume. These Monument Man were responsible for returning over 5,000,000 pieces of world class art, etc. to the original owners or their families that survived. Great movie to go and see.....
