One of the most powerful natural forces on the planet is the Columbia River during spring run-off, carrying snow melt from the Rocky Mountains. Flowing at 375,000 cubic feet per second against a 45 mile per hour west wind creates big waves and very exciting conditions. Yes, this is a river!
