We just received the latest batch of Christmas cards from England and were deeply saddened to hear from Wg Cdr Tom Neil that his wife Eileeen passed away in August. They had been married for almost seventy years and were one of the most inspiring couples you could hope to meet. If you ever had the privilege to meet Tom at an airshow or signing event, chances are that Eileen was there by his side as she had been through his extensive RAF career and 35 house moves ! But Eileen was so much more than a devoted wife. She was a true Veteran in her own right, having started as a WAAF plotter at Kenley during the Battle of Britain, she continued to serve on front-line RAF bases as an Officer for the remainder of the war. A remarkable lady in all respects, shell be greatly missed. Here is a small article about her in their local newspaper.
