We learn the language of love primarily from our parents, - TopicsExpress

We learn the language of love primarily from our parents, prevalent cultural mores, peers, books and movies. Each person’s language of love is unique and each person understands only their own unique language; so much so that we feel loved only when love is expressed in our own love language. This creates hurdles in our relationships as our love language may remain unknown to ourselves and our loved ones. Even most loving and sincere people can offer love only according to their own definition of love; but if this definition does not match that of the beloved, they will continue to feel unloved. This creates misunderstanding, dissatisfaction and frustration. When love looks different than how we picture it while growing up, when our life doesn’t match our image of love, we feel unloved. A perceived lack of love creates angry tyrants, bullies, terrorists, and perpetrators of crime.
