We lost two of our Guinea fowl. They wandered off a week and a half ago and have not been seen or heard since. Im afraid that either dogs have gotten them, or a hawk. I havent seen any carcasses on the road. Its also possible someone found them and decided to keep them. Whatever, I miss them dearly. They were my favorite two - Henry (Rollins) and Jello (Biafra). Those two hens were much loved, and they had fun personalities. Henry was loud and obnoxious, Jello was always kind of derpy and followed Henrys lead. I think Henry got out, and Jello followed. If Id only been home, and not out at a doctors appointment! The remaining 3, Blondie, Billie Joe, and Joey, are a tight bunch now, and theyve gotten easier to catch every night. They have had their wings clipped (feathers only, Im humane!) and havent gotten out of the yard at all since then. I am hopeful we can get a better pen built for them so they can have more space when we need to keep them cooped up (lol pun haha!) If we do enclose the barns awning area, its likely well get a few chickens in addition to the guineas. Id like two or three more guineas, and maybe 4-6 chickens. Id be delighted to get some peafowl, if I could be certain they wouldnt get out. Oh to have some peafowl! Id be stoked!!
