We make confessions of faith based on what the word says. We are not confessing it to make God do anything, rather, we are confessing what God had already done. After confession comes corresponding actions. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. (James 2:17). Many people do use faith-confession to console their laziness. This is one reason why almost anyone who understands something new about God feels he or she now has a call to the ministry. Its amazing how many who gave themselves a call goes about making noise and drawing AWAY disciples after them, (see Acts 20:30). Christians should go to the word to understand who a man of God is. He is not one who draws you to himself, no, not all: he is one sent by God to you. A man of God is one hand picked by God, anointed by God for others and set on a cause. I want to advise many young people in this part of the world who are currently doing nothing, but going about doing one funny thing or another, to make plans to go to school. God does not need academic qualification to use a man, but the world will need that to welcome what God is doing through you. I am speaking to everybody concerned, both those I know personally and those I dont. Ministry is not a retreat barrack for fools. A fool is not one who does not know, but one who ignores knowledge. I have met with young men who literally doing nothing but goes about announcing themselves in the name of ministry and soul-winning. Anybody who falls prey to such must be a fool. Beware of anybody who has no necessary trainings for ministry but uses charisma to convince you into ministry. I have always seen that such visions only appeals to fools. I am not saying this to discourage anybody, but to help whosoever cares. I met a young man sometime ago, and he said he was to raise a billionaires club for God. I encouraged him and advised him to first join a fellowship in the campus and receive the necessary trainings needed. He did exactly that and today he is a graduate and more focused. If you ignore what am telling you now just watch how your next ten years will be. I m talking to you as one who only received mercy from the Lord. You cant rise above your training.
