We read I Cor. 13 today in our daily bible. I have heard it - TopicsExpress

We read I Cor. 13 today in our daily bible. I have heard it numerous times in sermons and heard my husband use it in many wedding ceremonies, yet I was challenged today like never before to be a doer of this verse instead of just a hearer. Imagine the peace, trust, faith and joy each of us would live in, not to mention the profound influence we would have to a multitude of lost and hurting people we come into contact with in our lives if we really loved like we are called to love. We often (if we will be honest with ourselves) tend to make up our own definition of love and what that looks like. We cannot move the boundary lines on this verse nor the definition of love found in this verse. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand our own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures THROUGH EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE. I Cor. 13:4-7. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THIS WORLD by living this verse out to the best of your ability staying true to Gods definition of love. When you read this verse point your finger at yourself to see how you can love like God has called us to love instead of pointing it at someone else. If we who call ourselves the body of Christ do that, there will be a profound movement of Gods spirit in our midst and a paradigm shift in our culture.
