We received a call about a feral cat who had taken refuge in a tree, most likely to escape a predator. The cat had been stuck in the tree overnight and was apparently unable to get back down. We immediately took to action, and after arriving at the address realized we were going to need some help. After a few phone calls, Hamilton Tree Service answered this poor kittys prayers and within 15 minutes was on location with some heavy equipment to get the cat down. When we asked how much we owed Mr. Hamilton and his crew for their time, he refused to accept any payment and humbly said We just want to do the right thing. THANK YOU to Hamilton Tree Service for helping an animal in need. Wed just like to give them a plug for their assistance. Should you need tree service, give them a call at 428-3540. After getting him down from the tree, we rushed the cat to the veterinarian. We know how serious extended exposure in these frigid temperatures can be. Dr. Rojas discovered that half of his tail is frozen solid and will need to be removed. Were also keeping an eye on a few toes with some redness that may be frostbitten but were hoping for the best. He is warm and safe now at the clinic and awaiting surgery tomorrow. We will have the necessary portion of his tail docked, neuter him, get him up-to-date on vaccinations and after recovery will begin the search for an INDOOR forever home so hell never be cold again. Considering his new docked tail, and the conditions we found him in, were going to call him Bob Frost. He is a surprisingly cuddly kitty considering he has been an outdoor feral cat. Minutes after being removed from the tree he was in our arms and snuggling up against our neck. Theres never a dull moment in rescue!
