We received an email from a supporter whose 15 year old daughter, Alyssa, had the great idea to host a party with a purpose to benefit A Precious Child. Its a fun and creative idea to have fun while helping give back to those less fortunate. She outlined the simple steps and we wanted to share them with you: Party with a Purpose 1. Alyssa created an invitation (attached) that she passed out to friends at school 2. Ann Marie, A Precious Childs Community Outreach Manager, had 5 bright yellow donation barrels delivered to our house 3. We told the kids there would be prizes (gift cards) awarded at the party for a. Most overall donations b. Most new items i.e. socks, undies c. Most toys, books, stuffed animals d. Most winter clothes 4. We decorated the house with some bright primary colored balloons and streamers, ordered pizza and it was party time! 5. After pizza we showed a You-Tube video with real clients of A Precious Child so the kids could put a face to where their donations were going 6. A few days later A Precious Child had someone pick up the items 7. Success!!!!!! Kids today really want to make a difference and these young people did not disappoint! I was amazed at how many items they brought over – especially new items! It was really fun too!
