We received this public information and decided to pass it on. Although it involves consumption of beverages, it is for a good cause (to support expansion of the Meewasin Trail). So here it is: Prairie Sun Brewery to Launch Meewasin 80 Ale Thursday, March 27, 2014 In September 2013, Meewasin launched an $8 million capital campaign in support of expanding the Meewasin Trail in the northwest to Wanuskewin Heritage Park, and in the southeast to Chief Whitecap Park. This will add 16 kms to the Meewasin Trail system as well as the Trans Canada Trail which runs on the Meewasin Trail through Saskatoon. To date $6,909,253 has been committed or 86% of the amount needed to complete the project. One of the capital campaign committees chaired by Clay Sparks is the Young Entrepreneurs. They are hosting a fundraising event on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Prairie Sun Brewery that will launch Meewasin 80 Ale. The event includes the new ale, food and entertainment. Proceeds from the evening will go to the Meewasin Matters Capital Campaign. A limited number of tickets will be sold. They can be purchased at Prairie Sun Brewery or on-line at showclix/event/meewasin80
