We recently celebrated my Moms (Lois) 90th birthday with a trip to the Mongolian Buffet...where we ate for two and a half hours...with bro Dan coming down, Moms only surviving sibling Uncle Ron Pearce (who retired as the chief of police of Madison Heights) and Aunt Merry, cousin Linda, friend Chris Browning, bro Mike, Lynn and I. We then went to the Star AMC at 14 & John R, as its Moms favorite theater (and where Mom and Lynn had to get popcorn and a coke after stuffing their faces at the buffet) with its plush electric leather seats that bring a footrest up and the back tilts back and saw The Chef which everyone enjoyed. When youre feeling old remember Mom is still working at Hopcroft Funeral Homes in Hazel Park and Madison Heights (after retiring at 65 as a podiatrist clinic office manager) and belongs to the Red Hatters, the Hazel Park and Madison Heights Seniors, and the Lions Club. Dang woman has lots more energy than I do. God bless her. Her Dad (Grandpa Ben) played drums every Saturday night in clubs until he was 91 and diabetes took his foot, so he sold his drums to my partner so we could play together. The picture in the frame is of her brothers Ben, Jack, Ron, Russ, and Bob who all served in the military with Uncle Bob (after whom I was named) retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. Good times with a great family! Hope Mom lives many more years as shes just a gem! :-)
