We said a sad farewell yesterday to Patricia the last of our Camino family and to Santiago. We took the overnight train to Madrid, 9 1/2 hrs but we had sleepers so it wasnt so bad. We have 2 days in Madrid and then fly to Paris tomorrow night. Its hard to believe we have finished the Camino, each day just run into the next, half the time we had no idea what day of the week it was let alone the date. No TV & no newspapers for six weeks, just lots of conversations with other pilgrims. Its a way of life that I easily adjusted to and will miss it immensely. We managed to negotiate our way to our apartment with lots of help from the locals! (very nice apartment the middle of the city). At the moment were sitting in a dark club waiting for a Flamenco show to start... OLE!!
