We spend so much of our lives fighting the self that is our very essence. The parts of us that make us unique. We bury the pieces of our beauty and the bits of the puzzle that make us shine. We hide our brilliance in some effort to please the definition society has decided is acceptable. Our lives pass us by. Day by day and moment by moment we pretend to be happy as we push nail after nail into our coffins. And one day we look back and all we have been and all we have done is what someone else wanted for us. We never broke free, we never spoke up, we never lived. We never breathed the air of satisfaction and contentment. We never fell asleep with a happy heart and excitement for tomorrow because our lives were never our own. We gave it all away. For a middle class lifestyle,. For 9-5 and PTA and Board Meetings and all of those IMPORTANT things that keep us from really living. And love...well who has time for that? It takes a backseat to everything else. It isnt realistic, it isnt profitable to love. Its silly and romantic. I dont want to live in a world where this is the status quo. I dont want to be surrounded by people who have forgotten that their lives are their own and I dont want to be with people who have no clue how to love with their whole hearts. Where is the love? Its time for a revolution in my mind. The world is on a downward slide and I am no longer a willing participant in that trip, Go if you will, but I wont be joining you.
