We started to help. All of us. So now for an update. Generous donations and support have been streaming in for the burnt down orphanage in Klang. In a short 1 month period, the home has… a) A steady incoming flow of food provisions b) Sufficient clothes to replace the ones lost in the fire c) Sufficient toys & books to replace the ones lost in the fire d) Found a new home to move into, just a 2 min walk away. Currently awaiting painters to commence work e) Assorted furniture (cabinets, beds, chairs, tables, mirror…etc) f) 2 monster size rice cookers – for 50 little monsters each g) 2 water heaters h) A water pump i) A freezer j) Tons of mattresses k) Found a school for down syndromes, for lil Anita (6 years old). Thanks to Shirley, the president of Kiwanis Klang & her hubby Tony Sobey l) Total amount raised so far of RM52,200. A substantial amount of money for rent & monthly expenses, hopefully to last time for many months/years/generations. m) Had its butt kicked by us to sort out its licensing issues. No license means no help yo. They currently still need support in many other areas a) Contractor for new and current home b) Cabinets for storage, especially in the kitchen c) Giant size cookware (to do bulk cooking) d) Tuition teachers (All subjects, for kids aged 6 – 17). Long term, or bulk sponsorship needed, to ensure that the kids are put through a steady education plan. e) Occupational therapist (child therapist) – to consult on psychological & physical well-being. Include dietary & general health f) Dentist g) Deepavali & Christmas support: New festive clothes and gifts h) A 17 year old girl - Maria, is graduating high school soon, and is interested in being a make-up artist, especially bridal makeup. Need sponsors to fund her course (RM3000), or bridal makeup artist to take her in as an apprentice. To all of you who helped out so far, thanks and congratulations. You did all of that.
