We watched State of Play a few nights ago. Its a Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck movie. I wish Russell Crowe would cut his hair. But I digress. As a rabid Gaelic Storm fan, I couldnt help but notice two blatant references to Gaelic Storm. The first, in the opening scene, the song Russell Crowe is listening to in the car is The Night Paddy Murphy died. The second, in a seedy motel scene, Russell Crowe asks the CI to put out his cigarette because its a no smoking room. Makes more sense if you know the @Gaelic Storm song The Night I Punched Russell Crowe (the Gladiator) in the Head, sung and written by Paddy Murphy, who is ironically the one who asked Russell Crowe to put out his cigarette so many years ago.
